Good gaming laptops start at about $1250 & go up from there. Look for Core 2 Duo, minimum of 2GB RAM, video adapter with 512MB dedicated GDDR3.

This is slightly dated but it should be helpful:

Your other post was deleted due to "double posting" - it's against the forum rules.

Any laptop can handle "school stuff" but if you wanna be able to play games & play them reasonably well, you're gonna have to spend more than $800. The integrated graphics used on lower cost laptops are not suitable for modern gaming, plus most of them use the system's RAM rather than having their own dedicated video RAM. If you give us an idea of which games you're hoping to play, maybe someone will be able to come up with something, but for $800, you can definitely forget about playing new games such as Crysis.

Use this chart as a guide. It lists 164 graphic cards used in laptops, from best to worst:

Did you look at the game requirements? Guild Wars will be no problem:

COD4 & Crysis have MUCH higher system requirements. If those are the games you wanna play, you're gonna have to increase your budget.

This laptop cost $850 and its awesome. I own this laptop and it can play that all of the latest games with good fps. I can even play crysis on it but of course i overclocked the gpu. The only bad things about this laptop is that the speakers aren't that great and some of the keys are small but other than that, everything is pretty good.

That's quite a nice choice for the price.

I got to be honest i might buy that laptop, but you think you can help me understand what all the specification means. And i dont mean in childish words, i mean like the use of all of it. Examples. I want to know what 250gb on hard drive is, if the graphics card is good or not, and why. I aprreciate the help Thank YOu
