Name: giggles
I own battlefield1942 and am sick of carrying around the 4 cds and stuff
i have made images of the 4 cds in .iso format
i want to burn all 4 of these onto a dvd-r along with my cd-keys in a .txt and the patches if i ever get around to dling themis this possible:
burn a dvd w/ 4 .iso files and a .txt file
would it screw up upon install and trying to play?let me reiterate just in case, i own this game, i did not dl it, what i am doing is totally legal, it's a backup
thanks in advance

It is possible to burn four .iso images to dvd, my question is, are u referring to burning the .iso files them selves to dvd or the CD image they replicate to DVD?
I dont want to sound like an authority figure on the subject, but Would you not still need to the have DVD disk in order to play? I'm thinking if u burn the .iso's files them selves to dvd you could mount them with Daemon tools straight from the DvD, thus not having to take up Harddrive space and intalling the game that way.
Or r u just reffing to the fact that it is inconvenient to juggle four CD's each time u wanna play a game?
We only buy hardware so we can run software on it.

i want to burn all 4 .iso images onto the dvd, but not in iso format
i want them to be unpacked as they burn
then to play i would simply make one large .iso of this dvd which i have just burned and mount that image in alcohol 120%maybe i could try combining the 4 .iso files
in magiciso, although last time i did that i got a udf file system errorone worry is that there will be multiple files with the same name and some will get overwritten thus causing the game to screw up when installing or playing
thanks for the help Quantum-1what is painfully obvious to one person might be just painful to the other

giggles,
This is what u need to do, for each CD you duplicate have a corrusponding folder on the DVD for each one, Disk #1 in folder "Battle-1" Disk#2 in folder "Battle-2" and so on, So when you make that DVD and view it through windows explorer it should contain four folder = four CD's images.
This is done, so when you install Battle Field u dont have to keep getting those ("Please Insert Disk 2 Containing the File ****") messages, plus its more organized.
PS: maybe I"LL see u Online, when I'm feeding u lead...lol, I go by My posting name here.

hmm... so putting the cds in folders will work? wont it still prompt me to insert disk 2 then 3...? and then ill have to direct it to folder 2...
you probly wont see me online actually since im still on dial-up at 28.8k on my rig
i've tried playing at that speed before, yeah i got booted from the "all in" serverwhat is painfully obvious to one person might be just painful to the other

ok, i hope you're still there
i have tried many things and none worked so i want to try to burn all 4 .iso images onto the dvd in folders and unpack them as they burn, but i cant find a program to do this
in Nero it only let's me burn cd images to cd or dvd with one image at a time and it doesnt give me the option to put the unpacked files into folderscommon sense isn't very common
