Why do you think you need an aftermarket hsf?

i read a lot of reviews saying the stock hsf was hit and miss and you're better off to buy an aftermarket....

Stop and think for a moment; the stock cooler was designed for the i7. The two I've installed worked just fine at stock speeds and mild overclocks.

"Hit and miss" reviews come from people who may not know what they're talking about, are unable to follow simple instructions, or who couldn't properly install a shovel into dirt. You gotta take everything you read with a grain of salt.

Although I agree the Radeon is better, I doubt salamandyk will go for it. I personally think SLi (& Crossfire) configs are a complete waste of money, but I think that's what he's shooting for, so he's gonna have to stick with nVidia.
