Product: Intel core 2 duo / INSPIRION 1520

i am in need of a new computer, and im thinkin of building myself a new computer for the first time so i can save money and have a good computer for gaming, im willing to spend up to 800$, anyone have suggestions for parts?

i do have a keyboard, mouse, monitor, case, and i think i could re use the power from one of my old computers and same with the fans from them.

do you think that system would be able to play games like call of duty 1 and 2 also counter strike source ? like what are the main parts that make a gaming computer a gaming computer? what should it mainly have thats good, i know graphics cars should be good and is should have good amount of ram , anythign else important in it?
