I'm building a gaming computer from scratch and I'm wondering what you guys think about what i've chosen so far, I don't know too much about this stuff, so I'm open to any suggestions you guys may have for these parts, or any other parts I may need,or if some of these aren't compatible blah blah blah. keep in mind that by time I raise the money, at earliest it will be in December probably and I want the computer to last a while without me having to upgrade it

Hmm.. The case you should buy from a local shop because the shipping will get you badly.

Haven't had great luck with Chaintech for quality.

I don't have an issue with Chaintech, but I do think you should get a board based on the nForce4 Ultra, rather than the plain nForce4.

Also, get a different PSU. That one doesn't conform to the new ATX12v 2.0 standard. New boards use a 24-pin ATX main power connector, that PSU only has a 20-pin.

I'm with jam.
The psu is VERY important!

Also beware of value ram.
Apparently nforce4 boards are very picky when it comes to ram?
They prefer TCCD chips.

ok thanks, and just so you know, I was using some suggestions from my friends but I wanted to know what other people thought.I'll be switching to nForce4 Ultra probably since it doesn't cost that much more. now I looked it up on newegg, which one should i get? I don't know which brands are better...and also could anyone give me some suggestions for the psu too?? And should I get different RAM than what I have there? One last thing, what do you think about my other parts, will they be good for gaming? Thanks for the help so far guys

I know newegg carries a lot of Rosewill stuff, I don't know how good it is. The Aspire PSUs get poor reviews though...maybe not so bad at newegg, but from sites that actually test hardware

Aspire and Rosewill power supplies aren't very good. If you're trying to save money, check out the Thermaltake 480W.

Thanks everybody for all the help, I've switch ed my PSU to the Thermaltake 480W, which I think is cheaper than the one I had at first, a Chaintech nVidia nForce4 Ultra motherboard and I'm still considering what RAM to get because I'm trying to keep it fairly cheap...but I want good RAM which makes it hard. Also, how well will that video card I have play high graphic games? Thanks again for all the help

I've had good results with the RAM you were considering as well as Mushkin. Little better compatibility with Mushkin, but that was with NForce2 boards. I have had no issues with either with NForce4 Ultra boards. I have, however, had less Mushkin sticks go bad on me than Corsair as well over the last year, so I tend to recommend Mushkin. This isn't slapping Corsair; they've been very good, too.

After rebate it comes out to about what the Corsair is. *shrug* Your call, but both are good.
