Hey I'm looking to buy a decent gaming pc for around $700 dollars Canadian.

Ideally it would have the following:

Athlon XP 2.5ghz or higher
512 mb ram
80+ GB hd
Standard CD-Rom
128mb vid card

If anyone knows where I could get a rig like this please reply or better yet email me :)

Thanks.

Are you looking to build it yourself?

try http://www.tigerdirect.com/
They have complete systems with printers.
for $300! They have a large assortment of systems, from older Pentium 3s, to newer AMD boxes. You might also try http://www.computersurplusoutlet.com/, or http://www.mwave.com/

If going to buy a complete system, IMHO stay away from proprietary or brand names..Dell, Gateway, SONY is the worst..at least buy a premade from tigerdirect or your local computer shop..this will give you 'options' down the road

I'd try http://www.pcclub.com/systems.cfm

heh i dont know what you guys are talking about. If you want a great gaming pc buy one of the ALIENWARE comps or build your own AMD XP 2400(or higher) and put about 512-1024mb of RAM. HD about 60gb is good enough and for video card get a Geforce FX 5700 Ultra or ATI Radeon 9600 XT, their pretty cheap for its value.

Obviously Alienware is not for people with a budget. I recommend building it yourself. I would get these parts:

***These are US prices so you would have to do the math***

AMD Athlon XP 2500 ~ $90
Abit NF7-S ~ $105
WD or Maxtor 60gig Hard drive ~ $70
ATI Radeon 9600 Pro ~ $150
512 Mb PC3200 DDR Ram (geil or Corsair) ~ $90

That leaves about $200 US dollars (do the math) to get the rest of the stuff
