BFV Issue with Multiplayer, not PB or Firewalls. Black Screen

Specs: Windows 7
My brother bought a new PC running Win7. I have XP, as did he before.
On his new PC we can't get BFV to run multiplayer.
Single player works fine for him, so the game is good.
When we connect on multi, the game finds us (direct IP, no server) no problem.
The game then connects, the splash screen shows, it loads the map, and the server player sees the <person connected> message.
But the screen stays black. The connecting player never gets the to play, the screen stays black.
There are no errors on the screen or in the console.
All firewalls have been forwarded, and even completely disabled.
It also doesn't matter who is hosting, the Win7 or XP computer.

So there's something that is wrong. Some final acknowledgement isn't being passed apparently.

I could use some suggestions with this, or an actual solution if someone knows it!

I believe it did, yes.
But we aren't using that, we connect directly via IP.
