OS: windows xp sp2
CPU/Ram: 3.2 ghz / 1 gig ram
Model/Manufacturer: gateway
Comment:
hey i already know the minimum requirments of battlefield 2 and am currently running it on 1 of my pcs and it runs smoothly. my question is could i get away with running it on a 1.6 ghz cpu although the minimum is 1.7. will it cancel the installation? The pc has 512 mb ram and a 128 mb video card. Could overclocking be an option since it only has to go up .1 ghz?
thanks

makse sure you close any unused applications, minimum quality for audio and video should run ok, but then again dont know if installation would cancel

Im pretty sure the installation wont get cancelled. And yes if you really wanted you could overclock it a tad. Saying the video card is 128MB dosent say much, it could be a crappy 128MB 9200SE or a 128MB 6600GT for all we know. A few years agao when my main rig was a 600MHz Athlon I was playing games that reccommended a 1.8GHz~2GHz CPU. It was running with a 9550SE too at just above lowest settings with acceptable framerates. You may as well give it a go and see how it turns out.

yea... u could install it on a 700mhz PC just wouldnt work.. but it wouldnt cancel the installation.

Maybe making a boot disk to open BF2 with no Windows operating could work... i did this years ago when we used windows 3.1 lol so i dont know if it can still be done
