Leading edge technology is, for the most part, a waste of money, but it's your money to waste. I know I wouldn't work my balls off just so I could throw my hard-earned money away on highend/high priced hardware that will only drop in value, but once again...it's your money to waste.

At least do some more research on your choices. The reviews on the ATI board aren't bad, but they're not great either...it's no better than any of the nVidia4 Ultra based boards currently available & it's not without it's problems. I suggest you read this:

I checked the current price of your monitor because I have just given this model to my sister.Its same price as sony 19 version.

I did someone a few favours and he sent me a Sony SDM-HS95P X-black 17 LCD Monitor.
Even though my viewsonic is bigger I have kept the sony for myself.
The picture is absolutely amazing ,I have seen this kind of resolution and clarity only in crt monitors.
The viewsonic doesnt have a DVI input where as the Sony does.
I would advise you to google some reviews on this monitor,It really is outstanding.

Considering that....

A) the X1800XT isnt actually out yet (other than on paper) and wont be for at least 3-4 weeks.

and B) the X1800XT Crossfire Master card which you need to go with a standard X1800 for a crossfire setup is still just a twinkle in ATI's eye...

...im impressed! Which time-machine powered computer store you shopping at? I wanna go....

I REGISTERED WITH COMPUTING.NET AN ALL I GOT WAS THIS LOWSY SIGNATURE!!

With all that bleeding edge technology, I would atlest "atlest" get a bigger, better monitor. Perhaps, one with a native res HIGHER then 1280x1024 to fully take advandage of those components. Think about it, two x1800XTs, thats High-Def gaming by anybodies standards, you dont want to be restricted by a "wimpy" res of just 1280x1024 (or any thing lower for that matter). Not to mention I my self like to indulge in High definition movie watching. I'm talking about 1080i and 720p pixels of pure clairty. If you have the cash, get apple's 31 incher. You'll be glad you did. After all, What good is a high powered system, when your using an "Etch-A-Sketch" for your display?

Dude, check the reviews on that motherboard...they're less than fantasic. And AMD doesn't support DDR2 RAM yet, so you'll need to reconsider your RAM choice. If you didn't bother to read the link I posted, here's the list of "cons":

- Too high price;
- No RAID 0+1 support;
- No CPU temperature monitoring;
- No tools for the management of CPU fan rotation speed depending on the CPU temperature;
- Slow USB 2.0;
- Scarce accessories bundle;
- Some design flaws.

I suggest you get a decent nForce4 SLi board instead & if you feel that you absolutely need dual video cards (what a waste of money), get either two 6800 Ultra's or two 7800GTX's. 2GB of RAM is plenty...go with PC3500 or better (I'm sure you'll be overclocking).

And since you seem to have all sorts of money to blow, I agree with Galileo...get a better monitor with a better response time

That monitor has an excellent response time, however your still limited to a reolution of 1280x1024, no higher. Why not play at 1600x1200 when your machine can easily handle it ? And with the hardware you plan to get, can no doubt handle most any game at 1600x1200, settings on high, and all the eye candy.

Also get a nForce4 SLi board instead...

Here is a Dell 2405fpw 24in LCD Monitor $899 w/free shiping.

Waste of money. The onboard 64M RAM does absolutely no good. Research it on the net. Rather disappointing.
