Reply: (edit)$2,000 dollars would buy one kicka** desktop system provided u already have a monitor, on the other hand $2,000 bucks would not buy much on the notebook side. All I can say is buy one with the latest chipset, CPU, fast RAM, and the Vid-Cards for a lappy is gonna make a hole in ur pockets. The thing about lapptops is that, on most, the vid-card on it is hard to upgrade. The most important (???) is what games do u wanna play on it? very intence FPS? ohh... AlienWare has a notebook for $1,940 it has a p4 @ 2.8GHz, 256MB DDR PC-2700, and a NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5700. Might wanna invest some more $$$ for aonother sick-o-ram. We only buy hardware so we can run software on it.

Reply: (edit)Personally, i'd save that kind of money for when you can buy a PC with PCI-e, 64-bit, SATA2 and a BTX form factor all in one system for sensible money. Reply: (edit)I second the that ^^. Laptops are not good for playing games. You could probly get a nice system with that money but you're better off waiting. Intel P4 3.0GHz Gigabyte 8KNXP Radeon 9800Pro 410/370 1GB Corsair XMS PC3200 80GB WesternDigital HDD Plextor DVD R/RW LiteOn 52x32x52 CD R/RW

Reply: (edit)Check out CyberPowerPC. They have the lowest prices I have seen on comps of all sorts. Although I haven't bought one yet I am seriously considering it. AMD 64/512Mb/160GB/ATI Radeon 9800 Pro for under $800. And check out displaysonic.com for monitors.
