best bios settings for graphics

OS: xp pro sp2
CPU/Ram: xp2400 1024mb

hi all
just wondering ive got a xp2400 thoroughbred runnin at 400 fsb and 11 multiplyer 2200 mhz.
1024 3200 ram at 400 mhz and a xfx nvidia 6600gt. Im wondering whats the best bios settings for the graphics card to get the best performance, ie what graphics apature 64,128 or 256 and do i need the fast write and other options enabled or disabled.

any advise from you gurus out there would be appreciated

I'm not sure...It depends on your motherboard, etc. Look at the manual that came with your video card. Don't have one? Look on the CD. No CD? Look on the manufacturer's website. I have a GeForce FX 5700LE; its manual said to turn off AGP fast write, if I can remember correctly.

i've tried benchmarking on different aperture sizes. surprisingly, larger doesn't mean better. set it to either 64m or 128m, that's the best bet.

Enable fast writes; disable it if it crashes. ;-) Disable Video BIOS Caching because it does no good. Aperture size at 128M is what I'd recommend.

Psycho are you saying the fast write is a good thing? Then why does my manual say otherwise? Do you think it depends on what mobo & vid card one has? Should I turn it on? This is one thing I don't know much about...

It shouldn't hurt unless it causes crashing. Nvidia may be saying that because they've seen crashing with it and your card. Fast Writes if utilized would help performance, although it won't be a major improvement.
