how can i play the game in the windowed view, as opposed to fullscreen!!??

You could try pressing ALT-ENTER, but why would you want to. The system resources to run it in a window would be much, much higer than running it in full screen. In other words, the game would probably be unplayable.

i use to play ut2004, and call of duty that way and found it better and much quicker.

Try using CTRL+ or CTRL- it works on doom
