I had to see it at max, full detail at 1600x1200 res...lol, ohh man!!! I reject this reality and substitute my own.

I knew I would get a slideShow, but never the less, I still had to witness the eye candy in all its glory.

Perhaps I will get better results when I order my 6800 and unlock its pipelines.

GamersHell.com has some good servers and took about 1 Hour on my T1 line to download it at 144kb/s.

plyduster,

sorry to tell you the truth, IT WON'T WORK on that ti4200 card. i've just tried it on my friend's pc with that card, it won't even start. but nevertheless, i think ti4200 is still a great video card, its just not for this game.

btw, have anyone with an ati 9600xt card and had tried the game? did it work well?

thanks

Thanks for the info, why it doesn't support the ti4200 is strange. The 8500 is supported, but it's slower than my card. Maybe the full version will support it?

Man the DEMO blows!

Same boring gameplay as the original and as far as I can see the graphics are relatively the same. Animations and slightly destructible terrain but that's about it. Not to mention it runs like crap! I have the preset set to 'overall high' at 800x600 resolution. Any hardware changes and I have a slideshow. The 10 min limit is anoying too. I can barely get to the other side of the map in that much time.
I know that the demo says the retail versio nwill be way different but I hope it's nothing like the demo. I'm waiting for Operation Flashpoint 2.

The requirement is shader 1.4 isn't it? So you need a card that has it.

Yeah the Geforce 4 series only had PS 1.3 where as the radeon 8500 has 1.4

the graphic is kinda weird, the shade, sometimes the ground is dark then sometimes is bright. the shade has some problem. i am using 6800. already got the latest driver, same problem. i wonder if this is because this is just a demo.

Thats odd, everytime I visit the nvidia website for drivers the latest version was 71.89, during install though the demo contains the latest drivers for my card 77.30.... I'm abit confused why this version wasn't available when I chose the update driver version in my display properties.... Maybe because that version is windows signed and tested? (although it may not have been i dont remember). maybe I'm going to the wrong part of the website? Strange...

On my PCI 5700le the game runs very smoothly with everything set to high except texture and lighting (I set both to high and the game became a slide show, not sure which killed the card) so back to medium they will go I suppose, but hey I can set anti aliasing to 4x so I'm happy without the ugly jaggedness mostly in 800x600.

Install the latest drivers that come with the demo bitboy. It should solve any shading issues. Worked for my 6600gt.

Yep, Stu.B and leftbehind are correct.

I found a thread in the battlefield 2 forums discussing the fact that the gf4 uses pixel shader 1.3, the game according to ea needs a card with at least 1.4. For the first time in 3 years, it sucks to own a geforce 4 ti. Guess i'll save $50.

i only have a semi-decent comp:

viao 1.9Ghz p4
768mb ram
nVidia Xtacy Ge-Force ti4600
audigy 24 bit sound

ive seen the previews for bf2 and doesnt it look strikingly like the desert combat mod for bf1942, just with upped graphics and physics? i don't mean to be skeptical, i know i need to up my processor badly, but its unfortunate that i need a new card to play bf2. I got hl2 the other day and it plays well enough, i guess plyduster was right in the end about saving money...

Thats because they aren't windows signed and tested to be 100% compadible and functional, however thats up to your own discretion alot of older drivers aren't windows signed either as well as some hardware's drivers in general. Mostly the reason these ones arent is because there BETA drivers. So its really up to your discretion whether or not to install the drivers bitboy....

I havem't had any issues with them, but thats just me and besides if your using windows Xp you can easily roll back your computer to beofre youn installed the drivers if they cause you trouble.

I can run it at 1600x1200 with all settings at medium, except for water I put to low and textures I set to max..Oh and no AA.
Man it looks stunning, though not as stunning as the FEAR beta Ive been running (:
