Specs: Windows Vista
Hey, I need some help. I've been running Battlefield 1942 with the v1.61 patch for the past couple of days and it's been working great but after updating my graphics card drivers, when I attempt to start up any Battlefield 1942 expansion or itself, it crashes almost immediately and a little black square appears in my top left for about 250 milliseconds. Very brief. Any ideas?

As if the game resized it self pretty small and stuck it in the top left corner for a very brief amount of time, then exited.

Why did you update the drivers? Which video card do you have? Which drivers did you have & which did you updaate to? Did you completely uninstall the old drivers 1st, reboot, then install the new drivers?

I have a GeForce4 MX 420 and upgraded to driver version 7.15 from 6.01. All I did was install the new one, without uninstalling the old. I'm running Vista and I was told to update the drivers for Windows Aero, but the upgraded driver isn't needed, I rolled back my video driver and it worked like it used to. I would like a new driver but if it's too much trouble, I can just stick with 6.01.

Thanks

You can't run aero with any gf4 card (doesn't have pixel shader 2.0).
