Any new game that has been coming out has been running like crap, lots of sidescrolling ,skip ,stutter and 2 or 3 second freeze lag. games such as AOE3, CIV4, F.E.A.R and The Movies have all been running bad. In fact my older games have never run that great either. Now in the past year i have upgraded my video card my mobo my hard drives sound card, power supply and my cpu. before i upgraded i had pretty bad lag in games too. the only thing i havent upgraded is my RAM the pc3200 corsair value select (1gig).
I am starting to think Gigabyte boards hate this RAM. i am not totally sure if thats the issue though, and if i should rush out and buy another gig of somthing else. Games run just as bad on my SATA drive as they do on my IDE drive. oh and i am 100% sure i have no gremlins/spyware on either drive. I have tried messing with all my bios settings and windows settings such as hardware acceleration resolution disabling sevices ect ect. i have tried so many things i cant even list them all. and all drivers and bios is up to date.

Updated all your drivers?
Did you do a fresh OS install when you upgraded your motherboard?
When you say lag, do you mean playing multiplayer games?

yes i did a fresh install of windows xp when i got a new mobo. of course all drivers are updated i already said that. and no i mean even single player games lag like all hell.
no matter what i change in game settings to high ,medium or low it dont matter they still lag exactly the same.
i've seen alot of other gamers have this problem too but no one seems to be able to figure it out.

That has to be frustrating.
I'd just try the RAM and see what happens. Corsair XMS can be had for a little over $100.00 now at various online merchants.
Why not give it a shot if you have the cash?

Wow, sounds familiar. I also have a GA-K8NS Ultra-939 board and I am having similar issues. I have a AMD64 3500 Venice Core, 1GB of Crucial Ram, a 250GB Hitachi SATAII drive, a Nvidia 6800 video card, and clean install of WinXPx64. I'm having problems with Battlefield2 and Call of Duty 2. In BF2, I'm getting low frame rates with little change regardless of my graphics settings. Call of Duty is even more strange. Some missions play totally smooth at 1280X1024. On others, I'm getting about 2 frames per second at 640X480 so I'm sharing your frustration. I was thinking it was caused by XPx64 beta drivers but now I'm wondering if it might be a problem with the MB. I will tell you that I was having problems after flashing the bios because it defaulted a SATA setting to RAID after the install. I set this to BASE as I'm not using a RAID configuration and some of my issues were resolved. Might want to check that. If you resolve your issues, please post them to this forum.
