ATI Radeon or .NET Problem

Specs: Windows XP
Since Thursday I have been getting seemingly random reboots in almost any application. A guaranteed reboot is when I try to run WOW. Sometimes it makes it into the process far enough to select a domain; sometimes not. I get 4 to 6 messages in the error log. The first is usually:
_IDEMDeviceDFP2Settings_0812.GetDFP2ITCFlag failed with status 2
Error Called by: ATI.ACE.CLI.Aspect.DeviceDFP.Graphics.Runtime.RT_DeviceDFP::Parse processID:01544 threadID:(CCCThreadNew:Runtime) domainName:(ccc.exe ) assemblyName:(CLI.Aspect.DeviceDFP.Graphics.Runtime, Version=2.0.3343.28263, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=90ba9c70f846762e)

The only thing I can think of, is that on Thursday in Microsoft Update I got 10 updates to .NET 2.0 and 11 to .NET 3.0. I picked up a newer version of the drivers including the CCC from the AMD website. Same problem occurs. I really don't know if I have a driver problem, a .NET problem or an XP problem. Anyone have any ideas?

If you haven't already done so, disable the automatic restart feature. CCC isn't you use it? If not, uninstall it & the new driver, clean your system with CCleaner & Driver Sweeper, then download & install the driver only version of the latest Catalyst driver.

OK. Got it solved. The problem was the Realtec High Definition Audio update that was part of about 25 updates that Microsoft threw at me on May 28. Uninstalled that, downloaded and installed the latest. No more crashes.
