Not too sure what is going on , was playing a game and computer froze. I turned it off and turned it back on and i got a red message saying "you do not have radeon 9700 pro cable extension connected " and all my cords are in place properly and the computer worked fine up until now. I cant reach the login window at all , this is the first and only thing that pops up once i start up my computer. Using p4 dell dimension 8250 3.1 ghz 512 mb ram 111gb

Do you have to connect a molex to the 9700 pro. If so, I would check that, even if it is in place, take it out and plug it back in. RED

yeah i'll check that out tomorrow, not really great with computers , just driving me nuts right now that i can't get into any of my files , my computer is unusable at this point. One person told me it might be a heating problem, a couple said to try to plug it back in again , so ill try a few things as i have gotten a few different answers. thanks a lot though guys, any more help would be GREATLY appreciated

Since you're getting the error about the cable, that'd be the place to start. The 9700Pro is a power hungry card & has to be plugged into the power supply. ok thanks everyone for the help, i'll get to that as soon as i can. Another question though.. how come it won't let me boot into windows anyway? not even in safe mode or anything, i get that error and cant get passed it? anyone know? just curious
