Okay, here's my problem. I purchased an ATI Radeon 9600 AIW Pro off a friend for $25. He was in need of money and I just happened to have $25 on me (I consider myself rich when I have a spare $25 considering I have no job and still in high school). Anyways, I plug the card into my computer and no display at all. Computer boots up fine. All the fans spin, makes noise, even the fan on the card spins. My friend gave me the basics/essentials with the card, the purple cable (the one with S-Video and composite outputs) and the adapter that supports dual displays. I've been scouring forums for about 3 weeks now and have found next to nothing. About a day or so ago, I found something that looked promising. Plug my power supply into the video card. Sheesh! Why didn't I think of that?! Well, I tried it... Lo and behold, my power supply doesn't have a connector that fits the slot on the video card. So, here I am, finally reaching out for help. Can someone PLEASE help me before I take a bat to the thing?! I love ATI products, always have. But this is really frustrating me. Someone post suggestions or something PLEASE? It would be greatly appreciated. My current system specs are:
Windows XP Pro w/SP2
AMD Athlon XP 2600+
512MB DDR PC2700 Kingston HyperX RAM
nVidia TNT2 Pro Model 63 (32MB) graphics card (5-6 years old, still runs fine)
Thanks.

You can get a splitter/adapter from Radio Shack, but be sure your power supply has enough juice.
Watch out because you may need either a floppy style power connector or a hard drive power connector. You can unplug a power connection from another device to see what fits.
MCSE, MCSA Messaging, baby!

I have a 550W True Power power supply. The connector on the card looks like it would be a Floppy Drive connector, but it's a bit smaller than that.

Can you tell how many pins it has and what shape it is? Rectangular-ish? Trapezoid-ish? Square-ish?
Alert me after you respond otherwise I'll forget to come back.

Like I said, it looks just like a Floppy Drive connector would work in it, but it's not as wide. So, in that aspect, it has 4 pins and rectangular shaped.

Just a thought, but recently I switched back from an Nvidia card to my original ATI card before getting a new ATI card(long story). Anyway, when I did this I got no display at all, just a message about "signal out of range" or something like that. I remembered that while troubleshooting the Nvidia card i had discovered that the default display setting in my BIOS had been PCI(which is bizarre since the original card was a 9200 AGP)and i had changed it to AGP. I rebooted into BIOS and changed it back to PCI and hey presto, working display again. Sounds wierd i know but might be worth a try!
So long, and thanks for all the fish!
