I am trying to get my mom to let me get a ATI 9800XT. I play alot of video games online and offline on my computer. I want to crank up the graphics on my games (i mostly play Call of Duty and Call of Duty: United Offincive and i will play Unreal Tournament 2004 every once in a while). Do you have any idea's of how to convince my mom to let me get the 9800XT (i have enough money for the graphics card and for the instalation of the card)? Thanks. Mark

She wont let me get the 9800xt, it is her computer, but she never really uses it. I am basicly the only person in my household who uses it.

would she notice if you installed it on the sly (I.E. when shes out shopping or something)?
There's not much to give it away without going into control panel and checking or looking at the bootup screen, but as you say: you're the only person who uses it??

Summary: I'd probably go with a P4 3.2 or 3.4 extreme edition, 1 gb XMS pc3500 ram, and an ATI 9800xt or Geforce FX 5950. Between those cards, there generally is no difference. Or you could wait for the next...
