Reply: (edit)Check your AGP settings in the BIOS. 6071 is an alright score, however I would have expected you to get a lot more beuase of your CPU and RAM speeds. Radeon 9800 Pro 128Mb AMD Barton 2800 Asus A7N8X E-Deluxe 512 DDRAM PC2700

Reply: (edit)Ummm... that is NOT a low score, that score is par for the course. Some people are like Slinkies?, not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs...

Reply: (edit)It is when I can beat it. I would have thought his RAM would have made a bigger difference in the scores at least. Radeon 9800 Pro 128Mb AMD Barton 2800 Asus A7N8X E-Deluxe 512 DDRAM PC2700

Reply: (edit)Yeah I have, but still he should get a better score than that I'm sure. With the amount of RAM he actually has, compared to mine. With DNA Drivers I get 6200 (with overclocked core and mem). With my CPU was o/c'd as well, I get about 6400. Without the CPU or GPU o/c, I get about 5800 tops. Now put that into perspective, with my Spec and his. Frosty what's your 3d Mark 03 score? Radeon 9800 Pro 128Mb AMD Barton 2800 Asus A7N8X E-Deluxe 512 DDRAM PC2700

Reply: (edit)For ATi 9800 Pro's around 6000 is a normal score. So don't worry about it, not like you're getting bad performance right? k? thx. -FuRYCaCForums.tk

Reply: (edit)FuRy's Right...when I ran my ol 9800 Pro on my ol system..my score was only 4900 w/ AMD Xp 2000+ and a gig of ram of PC133 mem on ASUS A7V133 KT133A. oc'ed it and got about 5300...so your system is MORE THAN OKAY....alrite??...you'd be suprised when you see lots of people w/ an oc'ed 2500+ barton to 3200's speed got the same score as yours...wanna push it some more? get an x800XT or 6800U and you'd see a huge significance difference... ~evans~

Reply: (edit)Sorry not to answer your problem...:) well when I first bought the AIW 9800 Pro...it didnt even post...my system locked out...i got 1 long beep and followed by 3 short beeps...I know my A7V133 was only support AGP 4X but it should work 8X cards okay, so I returned the AIW and bought the 9800 Pro instead...it worked and I was so happy...so anyway...if I were you...i wouldnt worry too much and the problem could be from your 'crappy' mobo, what was the brand again? Soltek?? never heard of it...get a brand name mobo like Asus, MSI, or Abit...and be happy w/ what you already have now cuz Doom 3 will run just fine w/ your system... GodBlessUsAll ~evans~

Reply: (edit)Soltek's are very good motherboards. Just because they're not typically sold here in the US, doesn't make them a bad motherboard! I'd try updating your VIA drivers. MCSE, MCSA Messaging, baby!
