OK...im beginning to get really irritated! I just recently bought an ATI 9800 Pro vga and something must be goin wrong. Probably a week or 2 after buying it I began to experience heavy artifacting...this is not acceptable. I mean i dont even overclock the sucker and i sit here and read of others overclocking this card like crazy! The only game i am really concerned with playing is AmericasARmyOps. This is the kicker though....this problem doesnt occur all the time. This is how ive put up with it...but ive had it! I bought a arctic cooling silencer rev.2 to solve the problem and it still persists! I dont know what to do anymore fellas!

Seems like weak cooling. Try playing with your case out. Also check if your 9800 Pro fan is working properly..
Card could be defective

You see, it's summer. No doubt your videocard will overheat. I suggest that you do something about your ventilation.
Example: When hot air comes inside your house, and you only have sealing fans or electric fans, then it will only blow hot air. Now you will decide quickly that you need a shower...What I'm pointing at is, is you need a water cooling.

"What I'm pointing at is, is you need a water cooling"
How do you know the weather's getting warmer where he is? it may be getting colder. And water cooling is for people with nothing better to do than fiddle with their PCs all day, or for show-offs, you pick.
Some people are like Slinkies™, not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs...

I agreed w/ UnR3aL...it could be a defective card...still have the receipt? I'd say return the 'sucker'...

Arctic Cooler(VGA SIlencer) is one of the best VGA Coolers for R96xx/R98xx, so replacing it with Water-Cooling is a waste of time. Either the card is fried, or its defective.

could be a software issue
Radeon drivers arent the greatest
and Quality of software released these days arent the greatest either.
Check for software updates on that game
also try using the Omega Drivers for your Radeon - they're better than the ones released by ATI.Money not an issue?
Where do you live and when are you not home?
I'm not gonna rob you, I'm just gonna steal some stuff
