Hi. I have a fairly decent gaming machine with an 8800 Ultra. I am planning on buying Assassins Creed today, but I noticed some articles stating that a Dual Core CPU is Mandatory! Can anyone verify this?

Has anyone installed this onto a single-core CPU?

I plan on upgrading to a Dual Core in a week or two (next pay). ANd i was really hoping to purchase and install the AC game today, but if it wont work then i might just wait until next pay.

THanks for your thoughts on this.

Make sure that your P4 board supports dual cores, too. The very first LGA775 boards, based on the i910/915 and 925 chipsets, did not.

The creme de la creme of Socket 939:
Opty 185 @ 3.2GHz
SLI'ed GTS-640s, both flashed to 625/1458/1950
4GB PC3200
Blu-Ray/HD-DVD, X-Fi

THanks for the info guys.

I did pick up a copy of A.C. and installed it on my p4 single core and it worked! It actually ran pretty good at medium settings (probably because of the 8800 ultra).

I am confident that I will be able to Max it out once I get the Dual Core on Tuesday.

I will definatley check to be sure the board can handle Dual Cores.

Take care,
