Arrow keys not working Simultaneously

Dear Sir I have a HP compaq nc8230 laptop with Intel Premium M Processor 1.73 GHz,512 MB RAM,64 MB ATI Mobility Radeon graphic card. Sir, my problem is a bit unique one, I don't have any problems playing games other than the games from EA... I installed Cricket 2007 and Fifa 2002 & had the same problem in both the games, the game works fine(graphics,sound) but the problem is that the arrow keys(left & right) do not work when pressed with the "down" arrow key. Although they work when pressed alone or with the "up" key. Please tell me what sort of problem is this? (hardware, software) and how to solve it. A friend of mine told me something about "kbd.exe"?? Will that help? Please reply soon..
