Arrow keys not working properly

Specs: Windows Vista
I have owned this laptop for a while and I nearly always went on online games and my arrow keys were working properly. Now when I play them I always get frustrated with the arrow keys because whenever I go forward and stop at a place (e.g secret door) I seem to not stop but just carry on without touching a button. It does that with other arrow keys and sometimes whenever I go forward or any other way it seems to just occasionally go the other way or even stop whenever it feels like it. I am really worried and I have no idea what to do!!

this is probably a hardware problem with the keyboard itself. sometimes junk will build up under keys, causing them to "stick" when you press them, so even after you remove your finger, the contact is maintained.

try dusting out your keyboard with some compressed air. if the laptop's under warranty, get a new keyboard. if it's not, you could either try removing keys and cleaning under them, or try purchasing a replacement keyboard online (laptop keyboards are the cheapest part of the build).
