Ok i dont know much about Sapphire ATI Radeon 9600 Pro cards at all, i have always used nvidia but i am looking for a new video card and fancy a change.
My question is, are Sapphire a reliable company for making Graphics cards? I just want to make sure my first radeon experience aint my last.
Thanks
hmm i guess so

They're good cards...

Depends what games you play. They'll play older generation games (i.e. Half-Life) very well. But if you're looking to play newer games I think you should get something with a bit more juice, i.e. the geforce 6600gt.
AMD Barton 3200

Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb
A7N8X-E Deluxe

Yer, i agree but my budget says otherwise about a 6600gt at the moment.
On the whole i am looking for a card that matches my fx5700 which i think this radeon card will do fine until i get a serious solution in the months ahead, i was more concerned about the company who is making the card as i have never used them before.
hmm i guess so

Looks like a bad batch of cards

If you're gonna go for a Radeon in the 9600 series, go for the XT. From Tom's Hardware:
"The Radeon 9600XT (codename RV360) takes a special place in this line-up, though, as it is based on a more modern architecture than the earlier 9600 variants. For the first time, this makes driver optimizations for trilinear filtering possible, which results in much higher performance."

ASUS A7N8X-X
Athlon XP 1800+
8.5 x 200MHz

Asus A9550GE/TD 128MB
WinME/WinXP Pro SP1

Sapphire is a great brand. My X850XT-PE is a Sapphire model. It's built like a tank. I've got it water cooled and overclocked to almost the speed of a 7800GTX. Couldn't do that with my ATI-built one, so I returned it and bought the sapphire.
PowerColor's also been improving lately.

Nvidia ALL THE WAY!!! WOOOOOO!!!! Geforce 6600 GT is what you realy want :P
Woooooooooo!
DOWN WITH ATI!

Thanks guys but i will just buy this Sapphire 9600 pro in a few days, it will do me fine for now and my only concern was the company making the card which has been resolved, I did check out toms hardware and it is around the same power as my dodgy fx5700 so on that note thanks to you all.
hmm i guess so

im able to play BF2 with my sad specs with no lag but i have to go in a small 24player server and lower the graphics to low lol
so what is the best video card i can get for under $200 in order to play with maxed graphics?
AMD ATHLON XP 2500+
ASUS A7V8X-X MOTHERBOARD
1024MB PC3200 DDR400 RAM
ATI Radeon 9200SE 128MB
2X 80GB 7200rpm HDD160GB
on board sound
1.44M FDD

I'd say a Geforce 6800 256mb:

AMD Barton 3200
1024mb PC3200 Ram
Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb
A7N8X-E Deluxe

I don't recommend that expensive a card on an Athlon XP 2500. You're not gonna see a difference on that system between a 6600 and a 6800.
