are all video cards' fans speed up when playing game? i got the new pc, and unfortunately the PSU doesnt have the 6 pin power cable for 7900gs PCIx card. i have to wait 2 days. in the mean time, i tried to play games. all games work fine, but the video card's fan speeds up so fast and loud. when i close the game, it quiets down. i asked my friend if it is ok, he told me all video card's fans are like that. is that true? i remember my old 6800 wasnt like that. du think this has to do with the insufficient power?

Not all, some old and new graphics stay at same speed regardless. Other allow you adjust the fan speed with software or by switching the power connector on board. You should check the graphic card manual. And i don't think it has to do anything with the power supply.

How you decided it was insufficient?

yes, like i said above, because my PSU donest have the 6 pin power connector. so i have wait 2 days for that adapter to come. in these 2 days, i tried to play games without the PSU connects to the video card. so thats what i doubt.
