WOW! That's a GREAT combination u have there! OK, this is spec that u should consider...

NForce2 chipset
Dual Channel DDR
AGP8X
Raid support (optional)

In buying AMD line of CPU, u SHOULD consider changing the heatsink-fan >5000rpm (copper core is the best) for your CPU. Thermal-Take is good. Heatsink-fan that being provided by AMD is OK but just not good enough to handle the heat.

P4TypeC 2.8GHz HT
ASUS P4PEX/i845
1GB DDR400 RAM
40GB/80GB HDD
GeForceFX 5600XT
DVD/CDRW Drive
Sound Blaster Live! Value
WindowsXPSP1/Windows98SE

I think 64's arent oc-able...i think a stock fan should be alright if your not doing intensive gaming...

Stock fan is efficient enough. But if you want to change it get a Thermalright Copper Heatsink they pwn =)

HI,
Go for it, give it some hammer, Real Tourn , Half Life, Quake 111 demo 2, Painkiller demo, I could go on.
Your 64bit will rock. Yes, it will play intense games. I average 5 to 7 hours at a time and it's smooth as silk.
Stock fan no prob.

Setup:
AMD 64 3200+
768 DDR 400 RAM
K8T NEO MOTHERBOARD
RAID 2-0
ATI ATLANTIS 256MB ( WILL UPGRADE )
TAGAN 480W PSU
SONY CD R/RW
SONY CD R
and all the other bits that make it all work

The Athlon 64 is awesome, games run smooth, it has handled every game I have throw at it and of course with the help on the Radeon 9800 Pro, it is a gamers dream come true =)

My full setup =)

MSI K8T Neo Motherboard
Windows XP Professional Edition ( Completely Updated )

1x LG CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo Drive
Hightech Excalibur Radeon 9800 Pro Iceq 128mb
( Core 425 MHz and Memory 380 MHz )
1x 80mm on top of case Blowing air out
1x 80mm on back of case blowing air in
1x 80mm in front bottom of PC ( inside ) blowing air in
3x Cathode Lights
Seagate Barracuda 160GB 7200RPM 8MB Cache

3DMark 2003 = 6,396 Points
Final Fantasy Benchmark at high resolution = 6761

At most tests it kills the P4 3ghz, and an some benchmarks it's faster than a P4 Extreme Edition and that chip costs like $700 plus

Athlon 64 3200 is the best chip AMD has ever released =) even beats their Athlon XP 3200+ with no problems :-)

At stock speeds I get 5900 on 3DMark 03 and 19,028 on 3DMark 2001 SE

I would keep overclocking it until you see white/colored spots or black flashing shapes appearing in your games, then back down 5-10 MHz

I can overclock this card a lot more as I have a big cooler on mine =) even broke the 7k barrier on 3DMark 03 =) but as my PC is on 24/7 I didn't want to overclock it to much

The highest I can push my Radeon 9800 Pro is core is 480mhz and Memory 425mhz

average of 550fps on Quake 3 Areana lol =)

Far Cry average of 90fps

Call of Duty averge of 160fps

Need For Speed Undeground average of 80fps

All games ran at 1024x768 32bit at Max detail
