Wel... i just bought Quake4 and i cant play it... in the begining i never dreamed about playing this stuff smoothly... couse i have an Athlon @ 1200, today i install this game and this message comes:

"CPU does not support the Intel Streaming SIMD Extensions (SSE)"

I know that in the begining i dont obey the system req but i wanted to play i i want to know if this can be fixed, a cfg i dunno... maybe someone here can help me out...

You should always check the system requirements before "wasting" your money on a game. Considering the "old" Athlon CPU, my guess is your video card probably isn't up to spec either.

NO! a cfg will not fix what you dont have, Which is a CPU capable of SSE instructions. You may however be able to pick up a new AthlonXP CPU wich does support SSE. It all depends on your motherboard. Keep in mind that this will only let you run the game and no one is saying that it will even be playable. If you post more info on your system specs, we should be able to help you further in getting your system upto a playable level.
