Almost all 3D games crash

I recently bought an MSI Geforce FX 5600XT graphic card with 256BM RAM, as well as an AsusP4S800 mainboard. All my normal progs run perfect, but nearly all 3D games crash after 5 - 10 mins. I get the blue screen of death, during which windows xp states that it is dumping physical memory, or something like that. Because it only happens with 3D games I presume that the graphic card is the problem. Any miracle workers out there who can help?

dont use the driver cd that came with your vid card.go straight to nvidia and download the latest drivers.if that doesnt work go into your bios and lower you fsb 5 to 10 mhz.

I had the exact same problem, using the exact same graphic card. It's not the graphic card itself really. It's your temperature of your cpu and your system. If you are able to buy a fan to mount inside your computer to cool the temperature. I took the side panel off the side of my tower and put a box fan beside it to cool the CPU down to around 50ºC and the System around to 17ºC. It wouldn't hurt the thing.
