All my games keep crashing

All my games keep crashing. It is not the result of any hardware or software upgrades I've done, as I haven't done any for a while, and the problem just appeared from nowhere.

I'm not connected to the internet, and I have a virus checker, so I know its not a virus.

My specs are:
Windows XP Home
AMD 2000+ 1.6 GHz Processor
512mb DDR Ram
Radeon 9250 128mb Graphics card
Sweex Sound card

When the games crash, sometimes I'll get an error message, usually "x has had to shutdown. We apologise for the inconvinience(sp?)". Other times, It justs boots me back to the desktop.
Very occasionally, I get a blue screen, and my comp shuts down.

Please help.

You certainly don't have a modern gaming rig...weak CPU, not enough RAM, very weak video card.

What games are you having problems with?

Can you list the temperature of your hardware(CPU and Video Card)?
