Most recently my games started to freeze about 10-30 min of game play but before it didnt and all the same games play quite well but then this started to happen, so i decided to reformat. After reformatting I installed soldier of fortune 2 an older game but i had Half life 2 and doom 3 before i reformatted and they worked fine but all my games still froze. Soldier of fortune froze also after reformatting. System diag. 2.15 gig amd athlon xp 154gb hard drive radeon 9800 xt video card c-media ac-97 audio card NEED HELP ASAP

It would appear that your problem is a hardware problem, not a software problem...probably overheating. I'll never understand why so many people are so quick to format rather than troubleshooting

I needed a fresh computer anyway. Ill try that and see if it works

I agree with jam..you probably wouldn't have needed to format your HD..but I guess it's a little late for that..try cleaning your CPU and graphics card heatsinks..also check the fan on your video card to make sure it spins freely..I'm not sure about the 9800xt, but the fan on my 9800pro crapped out and caused similar problems before I realized that was the cause..good luck..
