Ok
I had trouble with blue screens and games crashing. I thought it could be a memory error so I ran memtest on both my sticks, there were some errors on one stick but the other had none. I took one out, but still games would crash or i'd get a BSOD.
Next I decided to replace my power supply as it was pretty crappy. I installed that today but i'm STILL having problems. Every single game I play crashes at one point or another. For example, Half Life 2 I can play for up to 30 minutes sometimes, other times I can only play for maybe 5 minutes before it crashes. Doom 3 crashes as soon as I move in the game. Every other game i've tried either crashes/goes to desktop or comes up with a 'memory could not be read' error >:( I hope someone can help as i'm just about ready to throw this computer out the window.

this happeneds to me too. i probably going to buy a new computer because my computer gets the blue screen like you say just after 10 or 15 miniuets. and only happeneds when i play a game. You can download Optimize Memory, is a program that says it stops the blue screens and crashes. but didnt help me...it migh help you...heres the link(its FREE).........

hi,
i had the same problem before. am i right to say that all the games you mentioned above were installed BEFORE you remove that faulty ram stick? if yes, then you have to reinstall all of them before you could actually run them smoothly.
hope this help.

I am running an amazing computer build and cannot play the simplest of games (aka HL1 DM) without it crashing... any ideas?

Hmm I just ram memtest on both sticks again and it didn;t find any errors this time. Could it be a bad memory slot on my motherboard or something?

It always helps if you provide the specs. What make/model board? What speed CPU? What speed RAM? What video card? What make/model/wattage PSU & how many amps are on the +12v rail? And if you still have that stupid "memory optimizer" program installed, get rid of it & run a full spyware scan...regardless of what they tell you, most "search bars" are spyware/malware

if your motherboard came with a cd, uninsatll the moth. drivers...then install again.
and uninstall your video card driver.. and install it again... it helped me now i went all week without having to look at another blue screen.(do at your own risk)CyberPower

Ok here's my specs:

Video Card - Geforce 6800 128mb

"How do I find out how many amps on 12v rail?"
Look at the label on the side of the PSU, but considering it's an Enermax, you're probably OK.
Obviously your CPU is a 3200+, not a 3.2...it runs at 2.2GHz (11 x 200MHz). Do you have your video card connected to the PSU?

i still think it a ram issue here. have you taken out the "suspected" faulty ram stick and install the game all over? try running them without the "faulty" ram stick and see wad happen?

But I dunno if one stick is faulty because I tested them again and this time it came up with no errors :/

assuming you have 2 sticks of 512mb ram. you can either test them 1 at a time (with memtest)or you could try some other way.
example : you have ram stick A and B, both 512mb each. now, install only A into the ram slot. uninstall then reinstall DOOM3, try playing it and see if it hang/crash? if yes, then go through the same procedure for ram stick B. see what happen.

Also, you might want to try updating both the motherboard and video card driver. check the cpu temperature and that the cpu fan is working.....etc

Hi, i have this same problem with all my games: nascar 2003, splinter cell, and flatout.. crashes to desktop or BSOD..
