Generally speaking, laptops are not good for gaming, unless you're willing to pay the big bucks for a "gaming laptop" with decent graphics.
Looking at what Alienware has to offer, you should get one from the m7700 series. The Aurora or Area-51 Ultimate both need a RAM upgrade...I don't know how they can market them as gaming rigs with only 256MB? The Lan Party has the RAM, but costs over $3000. You could try the custom configuration, but I'd say you're looking at about $2500 for a decent gaming config

Go to DELL site, choice the XPS M170 and customize your own notebook, i think this is a good machine for games.

go to best buy or some electronics store get a laptop w/ a nvidia 6600 integrated or x?00 integrated graphics (pretty much nething directx 9.0c) and go to newegg and get a memory upgrade, and your set should be able to get a decent one for under 2000 (with rebates and all) ^_^
