ok, what is the difference between these two? if it makes so little a difference (1-3 fps) then why are they making that new PCI express @ x16? will that do like .5fps? i dont get it

It's for future gaming, i.e. Unreal 3 (due for late 2005 or 2006?) which needs a lot of bandwidth (probably 8x agp or possibly more). In todays' games it doesn't really matter what speed agp you have, as long as its 4x. If you have a 4x agp motherboard you'll only find minimal performance increases if you upgrade to an 8x while playing MOST of the present day games. As PCI Express is for the future games that need a LOT of bandwidth

Thats the point who would buy one?
If u wanna upgrade now then i wouldnt worry about it, but if u hav a decent comp then it might be better off to wait 1 to 2 years when all those mb's and stuff becomes cheaper. And of course, when it makes a difference.
