You don't need 512MB on that card. Why would you speed $145 at TigerD when you can get a 256MB 7600GS for $100 (after rebate) at Newegg?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...

You could probably do better on the PSU too.

The 7600gs consume as much power as the 9600xt so I would first buy the 7600gs and try if your power supply can handle it...

The 7600GT is alot better than the 7600GS. Most of the time its faster than the 7800GS on AGP.
Getting the PSU is a good idea too. Best to go for a well known brand.

The 6800GSOC blows away the 7600GT. It is 256bit not 128 also has 12 pixel pipelines and the Memory Transfer Rate is 32GB/s the 7600GT's is 22.4GB/s. This card is hard to find but Tiger Direct has it right now for $145 after rebate.

In the Toms Hardware VGA charts, the 7600GT is always slightly faster than the 6800Ultra. The 6800Ultra is better than the 6800GS OC too, so the 7600GT should easily have the upper hand over the 6800GS. The 7600GT does only have a 128Bit interface but its clock speeds straighten it out. Heres the 7600GT vs the 6800Ultra:

http://www23.tomshardware.com/graph...

If you flick through the games you see that the 7600GT is always slightly ahead of the 6800U.

OK I'm a believer now. I didn't think the core clock could make up for the 256Bit interface.

Go with the 7600GT it's even cheaper after rebate :)
