Hi im looking to buy a new AGP graphics card the main use for my computer for gaming so i need a really good one.
I have read post after post on video cards but it all seems to go over my head, 16pipelines, 20pipelines, 400mhz etc etc. Dont get me wrong i now abit about computers but video cards i just dont understand what so ever.
My current setup is: P4 3.2ghz, 1.5gb ram, x2 320gb sata hd, 550wt power supply. i got a big duel thurmaltake cpu fan covering a huge heatsink, numerous fans. but current card is (nvidia fx5500) what does not play todays games at all.
My goal here is to build a kick arse computer on a low budget which i have done so far but i wanna spend the time and money to buy the perfect game card for todays demanding games.
Any help would be very appreciated.
cheers

Depends on how much you want to spend. Couple of suggestions...

Or this if you want to go all out...

WOuldn't go any higher than that on your machine.

Keep in mind PCI-e cards that perform comparably to AGP cards cost less, so if you were thinking about an upgrade on your motherboard and CPU, now would be a good time.

how do you think these cards would go for gaming? LEADTEK A6800XT 128MB or ATI X800XL 256MB DDR3? I am leaning more towards the ATI one but asi said i have no knowledge of video cards. I live in Australia and the ATI one goes for $290aus and the Leadtek one goes for $218aus.
cheers guys

This should keep you busy!

I only use intel at work, so I've no idea if you can buy a PCI-E m/b that will work with your RAM and CPU, but it might be worth taking a look as you are paying a premium for AGP cards at the moment
