I recently bought an GEFORCE 5700 ULTRA and the thing is massive! My Dell computer has little to no clearance. I want to know if there is any device to allow me to put the card outside of the machine. Please help.

hi,i won't ask why you got the 5700 ultra(nvidia fan)over the ati 9600xt,but the 5700 is still a amazing card so,anyway to your problem, the only suggestion i can make is that you go out and buy your self a new case my friend,i know of no device that will allow you to use you card outside the case, nowdays you can pick up a nice case with lots of fans and a windows for as little as £20-30,my suggestion is that you do that.hope this helps

SCI, if I were you I would get a new case so that the vc will fit, or if you don't want to do that you could just exchange your vc for Radeon 9600XT. you might also want to take a look at this review though before you get the radeon.

http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/evga_e-geforce_fx_5900_xt_review/page4.asp

The benchmarks show that the FX5700 Ultra beats 9600XT in most games, so I would get that over the Radeon. I got one myself about a month ago, and it runs great on my games(Halo, Unreal 2, Ut2k3).

It pisses me off though, the 5900SE is about $188 at NewEgg.com. When i saw the benchmarks the fx5900se kicked FX 5700 Ultra's a**, and both of them are about the same price...i guess im going to have to save up my money for a 9800XT

esp,the only time the 5700 ultra beats the 9600xt i when anti aliasing and ansfo filter is turn off,and who wants to play a games with them turned off,as soon as the eye is turned on,the 9600xt kicks the hell out of the 5700 ultra,i'am not saying the 5700 ultra is a crap card, because it isn't,chances are if you a nvidia fan then you should get that, seeing as with future nvidia drivers the problems with anti alaising and ansfo filter will be ironed out, making it onpar with the 9600xt,i have a ati sapphire atlantis 9600xt 256mb and it runs all games brilliantly.good luck

SC1DuBose,

DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT get a new case unless it is from Dell. The motherboard will not fit into other cases like from Antec or Lian Li. If you ever get an off the shelf computer the motherboard will never fit. Same goes with motherboards not made from seperate companies like ASUS or ABIT. They won't fit into the off the shelf computer cases.

Incorrect, ASUS and ABIT boards fit fine in Antec cases. They won't fit into soem Dell cases as they are though, but you can generally get standoffs that will allow you to fit them in, and vice versa for dell boards into a standard case.

I would definitely consider swapping the case, and personally I'd swap the MB out for a Gigabyte board while I was at it. If you have an AMD processor, I'd recommend the 7V-AXP or 7V-AXP Ultra (Ultra if you want the 333MHz FSB and SATA).
