im wondering something about this card or basicly what it is because i've wondered around the internet looking for a answer my real main question is this

1. will it work with my Geforce 8800 gtx or is it just another grafics card i have googled it to death trying to figure out that answer but no luck so far

2. is it just for certain games or later on down the road it will work for all games?

cause if it works with my 8800 and helps it out as far as the grafics go on the computer then that will be cool and help out alot on some things later on maybe so that would be pretty cool anyway i was really wondering the answer to this and i didn't know if any of you guys might know here is the website for the card its self if you want to take a look

http://www.pcper.com/article.php?ai...

also off topic this is about heatsinks and fans my cpu is running hot its a fx 60 and it runs idle at sometimes 40 degrees Celcious sometimes 37 and thats just idle when im playing an online game it goes sometimes up to 60 or so and the limit on these prosesors are like 65 so im worried about that but i need to get some artic silver i know that im going to stock up on it i have alot of fans in my computer 2 120mm front and rear and 2 side fans 80mm and one on the other side of the case so their is alot of airflow and the case is clean an the wires are hidden so thats the real cause of consern for me i know the artic silver will help but i dont even have it overclocked at all and i was wanting to overclock it

also im using a regular stock heatsink and do you guys know any good real good heatsink/fans that are better then just the normal stocked pcs heatsinks i was looking at the xp-90 but i dont know if you guys might know something better but that might have alot to do with it but if you guys could give me any information on this i would be greatfull cause it is worrying me in ways

thanks for all the great help so far on the other comp issues and things like that but this is for my other computer i think that im going to upgrade this one too as much as i can i just know that 60C is way to hot while running a game and sometimes it goes over that but they are known to be hot but i think it has more to do with heatsink fan my bois and everything like that

so if you guys could help me with this problem and that card thing is really confusing to me but if it does add something else to the grafics that would be awsome i just hope it would work with my 8800 im not understanding it right now i think that they are kind of new cards and i dont know much about them so any info on this would help

and the heat problem

hmm also i think games run better the lower the heat is on the cpu least thats what i have been told anyway

i can't wait untill windows vista releases i think its the 29th of this month or 30th i heard its going to make game proformance 10% better i havent tried the beta yet at all i was wanting to give it a try but i want to be able to play my games i dont know if its still full of any glitches or anything

I couldn't read thru all that...the lack of punctuation & CAPS just makes it look like a sea of letters.

The AGEIA PhysX is a waste of money.

Why spend for AGEIA when the cost of upgrade can get you one more graphic card? The 8800 was fine enough to handle physics simulation. The nvidia already work with Havoc to develop the 8800 card. If i'm not mistaken (correct me if im wrong) physics engine already built-in the 8800 to handle physics equivalent to what the AGEIA can handle. This may be fully functional with the release of future firmware by nvidia.

yeah sorry about that i was in a hurry to leave so i had to type it fast i'll rewrite it for you or something but here is a thought

"Typos are very important to all written form. It gives the reader something to look for so they aren't distracted by the total lack of content in your writing. "

:) thanks for the info though i'll read those sites you have giving me and see what they say i just thought that it might help my card along or take some pressure off it while adding some extra well grafics fixes

thanks also dark sky yeah i dont know about that part to tell the truth but i was going or thinking about getting another one of these cards but their just the first in this seires so i figured i should or could wait or not i dont guess it would really matter to much but i have the money now to spend and i can't be sure i will have it then but you are 100% right about getting the other card

the thing is i dont think that my psu is strong enough to run two 580watt antec psu sli ready but these things use alot more juice then the cards before them so i might just have to buy another psu as well which wouldn't hurt

do you guys have any ideas on the heating problem im having i could really use that advice too what kind of computer are you using as i said earlier mine should not be that high but the thermal paste and stuff has wore off of it so i dont know even when i added it along time ago i still had that problem a little bit but i think mainly i need a better heatsink the XP 90 heatsink looks awsome nickle plated copper and copper or one of those ones with the copper fins around the fan and the fans inside of it they are round i heard they worked really well anything to lower the temp of my comp im willing to do at this point it stays warm in my house also thats a factor i know

anyway thanks for that advice oh dark if its not build into these new ones an i did get another card i could still get the ageia couldnt hurt could it? i have the evga one and i dont think that you can use another gtx beleive you have to use the evga and then its smaller brother one thats meant for sli least thats what i seen on the pictures of them and all of that but thanks again hopfully you or someone on these forums will know something about these fx 60's and a good 939 heat sink or how to get the heat down from the 59 and 60 when im playing a game or the 43 when its idle that just does not seem right to me with all the fans and cooling i have going through it

You can search for the heatsink/fan at
http://www.tomshardware.com/howto/c...
and read through their benchmark. Usually one that's best for both stock clock and over clock will be a heatsink with heat pipe, copper core and aluminium chasis.

Copper - best in absorbing heat
Aluminium - best in dissipating heat
Heat pipe - best in redirecting heat

As for the fan, make sure that you get a fan that was fast but at the same time not producing much noise. You dont want your pc sound like a lawnmower right....?

The disadvantage with nvidia sli compare to the Ati crossfire is that you have to use two identical card to be SLI'ed (dispite what the brand will be). whereby the crossfire do not have to. But the ati user must have the crossfire ready card to be crossfire'd with another uncrossfire ready card. all nvidia card compared with ati is that all of their card will be sli ready.

The physics engine core already built in all 8800 series card (not sure about the upcoming 8600 series though). only that the engine was not fully utilizes by both games and firmwares. Yes it wont hurt if you buy the Ageia card. It uses PCI slot anyway. But to tell you the truth, there's no major advantage over the ageia card other than more debris on screen when there's an explosion...so dull.

But future game may take advantage of this technology. The upcoming Indiana Jones game by Lucas Arts may take full advantage of this technology. Ripping cloth, physics simulation, water simulation etc...
