LOL...

Given how x64 requires special patches and drivers to run games of today, and the fact that Microsoft has taken a strong stand against support for 16-bit processes in its next-gen OS, I wouldn't be surprised if none of those games worked without special drivers/patches.

Those apps are 32-bit, not 16-bit. Games haven't been 16-bit since DOS...

Not all of them. There are a lot of games that have "hidden" 16 bit processes in them. Also, cheaper devices like scanners and printers often have 16 bit apps in their drivers. Hence, the incompatibility.

The main reason x64 sucks the big one in terms of compatibility is its dropped support for 16 bit processes.
