which if these two cards would be the best all around gameing card?

the
PowerColor Radeon 7000 64MB
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1058665&CatId=876
costs 40 dollars, most user reviews I found on the internet say that powerColor sucks and dont buy it. I think that they were possibly expecting more than should be expected from a cheap card.

the alternative is the Chaintech XGI Volari V3 128MB
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1043623&CatId=880
the reviews I found online said that this was really a pretty good card for the price, but isnt anything good at fifteen dollars?

does anyone understand the technical specifications enough to tell which one of these cards will perform better?
My motherboard is a 'mach speed V2DP' and it only supports 4X agp so I wont be able to take advantage of the 8x agp available on the Volari Video card.

thanks a lot for any help.

I would get the Volari because it uses DirectX8. also, if you look it says the Volari is $35 with a $20 rebate, that is why it is $15.

Good luck running any current games on either card.

You really should get at least a Radeon 9550, or an FX5700 if you like Nvidia, but if you're going to be ultra cheap, and you like tigerdirect, this card kicks the snot out of either of the two cards you're considering.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1157570&Sku=P56-2700%20W

It's still not my recommendation, as there are many games that won't even run on that card.

PowerColor makes decent cards, but the Radeon 7000 sucks. The Volari V3 sucks even more...it's a low end 64-bit piece of crap! Don't worry about the 4X/8X issue...the difference is minimal. If you don't wanna spend a lot of money, but want something semi-decent for gaming, have a look at these:

If you want cheap, here's your card...Radeon 9250 128MB/128-bit AGP 4X/8X for about $35 (after rebate)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814166002

If you're willing to spend a little more for a better card that supports DX9 (the card above only supports up to DX8), have a look at this refurbished Radeon 9600 128MB/128-bit 4X/8X card for about $55:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102305R

If you're not willing to take a chance on a refurbed card, how about the PNY Geforce FX5200 128MBAGP/128-bit 4X/8X cardfor about $45:

Before someone jumps on my case about these choices, it's obvious that Jose doesn't wanna spend much.

BTW, I'm not a big fan of TigerDirect either...

those cards are junk and even i have better confidence in gfx cards than most. a radeon 9200 is fair, not great, but fair, performance for the price.

Argue for your limitations and sure enough, they're yours.

If the guy's having a hard time trying to decide whether to spend $15 or $40, I doubt spending $90-120 is even an option...lol

Thanks for all your help. you have all convinced me not to get either of those.
What I want is a is a the best card I can get for under 50 bucks, I think that mostly what I will be using it for is 2d gameing, snes emulation and som on but it would be nice if it can run some newer games aswell.
It has to have composite out, and preferably just an RCA connector, not an s-video with an adapter. I will be mostly using it with a TV. If there were a perfect card, I could spend up to 75$, But I would like to keep it closer to fifty.
IS having a 64 bit card really so bad?

i just bought a nvidia fx5700 personal cinema of newegg.com for 79 dollars total (card+shipping+tax), and it has all that stuff, and you might be able to find a ati radeon 9000 all in wonder, my friend has that card and it runs all the newer games on low settings and has the tv stuff. (ati all in wonder is better than the nvidia personal cinema, but its also a lot more expensive)

64-bit cards are 30-40% slower than 128-bit cards, so YES, it makes a difference. And since you can get a 128-bit card in the price range you're willing to pay, a 64-bit card shouldn't even be considered.

If you bothered to check the link that I posted, you would see that the Amigo Radeon 9250 has 128MB RAM @ 128-bit, it works at 4X or 8X AGP, it has S-Video & Composite Out (RCA), & it only costs $30 (after rebate) plus $5 shipping. So for $35, you'd have something far superier to the crap you're looking at.
