Hi,
First question: should I get a NVIDIA FX 5900-xt 128meg or a ATI 9600-xt 128meg.
Second question:My brother has a old original Half Life cd (Ridgy didge ,fairdinkum, real one that he bought) Problem is hes lost the original case for but has the serial that he swears came with it written down a piece of paper that he keeps with the disk in a secondry cd case.we tried to register the game with steam so i could play against him online, but steam keeps rejecting the serial, says its allready been registered.
now, somethink we should get cleared up here straight away.I tend to believe him that its the orriginal serial because hes not the type of guy who would get on the net to track down a keygenerater or anythink.Im not sure he would even know they existed, simply because hes not realy into gameing or computers, im trying to get him into it a bit this is why we are trying to get his game working.I think this was given to him as a present or somethink years ago when it first came out, im not even sure if hes ever even played it.

Ok, This has happened to me before. You need to contact steam via www.steampowered.com and let them know what has happened.. if you try to do this yourself you're not going to get anywhere fast.

Give them a call or drop an e-mail by them and they'll fix you right up... just have the cd-key and They'll verify it.

I've had better results with the GeForce FX, but that's just in my experience. The 5900 should run HL2 great.

Well if the cards are similarly priced go for the Geforce FX5900XT.
