I got a 1.80 Ghz intel celeron processor and i was wondering if its good enough to play doom 3 and if it is not could you tell me how to overclock it and how much can i go up to I got a chaintech mobo
thanks for any help

i very very very highly doubt you could play doom3 on a 1.8 celeron and 128 mb of ram with 640x480 and lowest settings. If your graphics card is onboard, you might as well forget about it, because that uses up system ram. i don't think that celeron can be overclocked, but please correct me if i'm wrong.

btw, even if u did oc it, it still wouldn't be able to play doom3. Even normal comp use, 128mb of ram is low for win xp. 256 is normal. 512 is really good. I think doom3 REQUIRES somewhere around 512mb ram, but i'm not sure. More for onboard video cards (which could never handle doom3) Still with more ram, your processor is to slow for games like doom3. If u update your ram, make sure u get the right kind of ram for your system. it would have been easier to put that all in one post :)

You need to upgrade you RAM to at least 256mb, preferrably 512mb...
What video card do you have?
Asus A7N8X-X
1800+ @8x210mhz
512mb PC3200
Ti4200/8X 128mb
WDC 60GB

this is the thing im getting a new mobo new gfx card(geforce 5700) adding 512 megs ram which would make it 640 since i already have 128. now would i be able to play doom 3?

Yes vlad if you upgrade to those componnents you will be able to play doom3.You wont be able to play on high settings but you will be able to play.
Your main concern right now should be on upgrading your ram.Your 128 megs is truly pathetic. If you were to add just 256 megs more you would see a huge difference right off the bat.

upgrade as much as u can.
this game is demanding
i can play it on low settings and it stail aint smooth
ASROCK K7S8X
THORTON 2000+ @ 2087
512MB 2700 NANYA
HITACHI 80GIG HD
RADEON 9200SE 128MB X8

I dont think you will be able to. And saying that i mean its still jerky and bits are unplayable on the lowest settings.
Let us know if you get it and how it goes..

Asus P4P800S mb
P4 2.4Ghz (800Mhz)
1Gb DDR3200 Ram
Asus Geforce FX 5600 128mb

what is a bottle neck in my system my CPU right? but doom 3 minimum requirment is a 1.5 ghz processor.

you're right...but min req is 1.5Ghz Intel based Pentium 4 or AMD equivalent (AMD XP1500+) nothing mentioned about Celeron though...

A64 3000+
MSI K8T-Neo FIS2R

Ati Radeon X800 Pro
250GB SATA HDD

Im not sure how you compare Celeron to and Pentium or AMD but ppl have told me that my old Celeron 400mhz would be about PII 200mhz
If anyone would no exactly, ur Celeron is probably like a PIII 1Ghz or less?
