128mb or 256mb DDR?

CPU/Ram: p4 3GHZ / 512mb RAM

hi , i am looking for a ATI Radeon 9600 XT .
i was looking for one with 256mb DDR but i have seen one much cheaper for 128mb DDR . How much difference is there between the 128mb version and 256mb version in terms of performance.
