Have a HP 930 printer.USB & parallel cabling work with XPPro.Parallel cabling works with Win98SE.Trying to use usb on Win98.From installation CD, specific usb file not found. From fresh download of drivers from HP, same message.Perusal of the win98usb folder shows appropriate file is there. Followed the start up,cabling sequence advised by HP website.Cannot get the usb driver to install.I know usb port on printer is okay & the cable is okay as I can use with XPPro. USB port on win 98 machine is okay as I can use other USB devices. Printer can self test. When printer totally uninstalled, then computer restarted with printer plugged in, windows does not recognize new hardware.(Computer does recognize other new hardware when a test ran for this)Diagnostic tool on HP website reports I have my printer connected properly with usb cable and it is recognized by computer. What a joke! If printer isn't installed how can computer recognize it. No printer in printer folder, no printer in device manager. Any suggestions??? Thanks
