XP - WIN7 upgrade caused loss of audio

November 24, 2012 at 10:11:23
Specs: Windows 7, 1.2G/512Mb

upgraded from XP to WIN 7 on a Valuestar desktop. The built in display has built in speakers.
Since the update the speakers are not working. No original disc is available since this is a second hand unit. The display is built-in, with built-in speakers on both sides, so although there are many drivers available at the NEC website there is no specific display model number. The universal driver MS WIN 7 now loaded is routing the audio to the rear optical jack. Anyone know how to resolve this issue? tnx in advance.

The NEC driver you need has nothing to do with the monitor model number. You should use the computer model number to get the correct sound driver.

Or buy a set of speakers for the speaker output jacks.
