xp doesnt pick up drivers

during reboot getting blue screen formatted hd reinstalled xp home numerous times each time many of the drivers were not installed why? have done this on other hds with little or no problems no ethernet,sound,display,modem etc

XP does not have everything single driver created built in, as you have a DELL you can get the drivers from their Support Site. Though most DELLs ship with a Driver CD!
