Comment: I have an error on my system. no High extended memory avaible. It will not allow me to install windows 98 on the system. An error comes up XMS driver not installed. I need help......

Reply: (edit)hello i have a big problem i bought a new hard driver for my latop compaq presario 1400xl340 the hard drive is toshiba 30 gig and when i try to install windows 98 on it and when it like analyzied it to install 98 it says unable to control A20 line memory manager unstable then below it is says xms driver not installed and it beeps and keeps on trying it over and over again to install. what can i do

Reply: (edit)just installed a dvd rom pioneer 115GA
and downloaded firmware and the winzip file
stated an error and said xms driver not installed any ideas?

"ERROR: An Extended Memory Manager is already installed.
XMS Driver not installed."
Can someone direct me to a site where I can download this driver??? Thank you,

Reply: (edit)Hey Nick I need that driver too, I get the exact same error message on my WINXP command line. Is there someone out there that may know and answer to this riddiculas conundrum. If there is HELP!!
