Dear gurus, I hope this is the right forum:
My friend said she couldn't print my message on her HP F380 printer/scanner.using Vista Home.
After checking the usual things like the printer had ink the usb cable was connected, all seemed well.
I tried to print a simple 'hello world' message , using MSword, then open office even notepad.
I went to My PC => printers => add printers to see what was listed. I saw the HP F380 was an installed printer and then I saw she had a queue of 137 error messages sending docs to the printer .
I thought maybe the F380 installation has been corrupted and she gave me the HP F380 installation disk.
It was here I saw that the disk was for WinXP and not Vista.
Q1 Is there a patch to be able to use the XP installation disk with Vista? ) I'm sure a lot of people upgrading from win Xp to Vista didn't chuck their printers in the rubbish bin.)
Q2. If Q1 has no answer, where can I find an installation setup disk ( bare bones would be fine) for the HP F380.
Her computer is not on a network and connects directly to the internet from her home with and ADSL speed of about 3Mb with a favorable wind.
I say the speed thingie because the ADSL connection is fast and she can easily download a large file in the hundreds of Megs in a short time.
If there is no easy solution, thanks anyway for taking the time to read the problem.
Bye
Fred
