Hi! I really need help. Windows Me can't detect my Cd and dvd driver. I want to reinstall Windows Me to my computer but the cd and the dvd can't read it. I try to update but nothing! I am out of solution. so please, Help me out! thx very much. kcmin@hotmail.com

By updating did you mean trying to add new hardware? If not, try going to start, settings, control panel, add new hardware, double click on it, and follow the wizard. If that doesn't do the trick then maybe you have a different or related problem. Check out any problem devices by going to: start, programs, accessories, system tools, click on system information, click on the + in front of components, (to expand it), go down to problem devices and click on it. This may give you more information. Finally, if your computer still recognizes your floppy drive and you have your CD-ROM device driver floppy, then insert it and follow the instructions. Hope this helps.

windows start up disk will automatically detect it and install drivers for it. so if your upgrading windows then just use the start up disk even if your not upgrading windows then just use the start up disk anyway

Switch computer on and enter the BIOS settings by pressing the Del key. Now disable the Memory Start up test save it to cmos and exit. Your PC will now reset it self and test's it's memory and memory found on other stuff. This can take about 2 mintues, but wait for it to complete. when you finaly start up windows goto my computer and you should see one of your CD drives. Repeat the above to recover more drives.
