win98se - ntkern.vxd driver for USB

cannot get my printer/scanner, camera etc to link up with my pc as the USB settings in system > device manager are botched.

it keeps asking for NTKERN.VXD driver from win98 se cd-rom, however I lost this a few years ago, so cannot therefore get the USB ports to re-activate as it were, everything else is running fine, USB selected in BIOS etc, all fine, just dont have this one driver as the win98 se cd-rom is long gone...

this is driving me mad!!!!

any help/advice would be great.

Hi

Time used to put the contents of the Windows CD on the hard drive. When the PC asks for the CD, click OK. It will say it cannot find it, but give you the option to Browse. Browse to the following folder:

C:\windows\options\cabs

Now it should find the files it needs and install!
